Kara Homes & Associates Reviews

We've noticed something about Google and Yelp reviews: they require the person leaving the review to identify themselves.  Being in the short sale business, it's tough to ask your clients to leave a review that clearly identifies them as someone who had a financial hardship and had to short sell their home.  That being the case, we recently began collecting feedback forms from clients and posting them here anonymously.  Good, bad or indifferent, we want you to know what Kara Homes is all about.

Keep in mind as you read these reviews that we're not cherry-picking here.  These are all the client surveys that we've gotten back so far, as they stand, unedited.

yes. everything was explained step by step

perfect.

yes. Bank of America made it very difficult for me to accomplish, but they persevered

Making sure all the paperwork is perfect. There were no troubles with any of the paperwork not being right or not included.

All was straight forward and any questions were easily answered by the team.

High level of communication.Any messages or e-mails were responded to promptly

Right from the beginning with Michael and then with other members of the team, I felt very confident

It took just about the amount of time to get approved as I was told and once approved, everything moved along quickly.

Communicated often during the process and rarely had any issues getting someone to help out on my first try by phone or e-mail.

7. Were you pleased with the end result of working with Kara Homes?  Why or why not?
Yes. Basically because of all the other answers I have given.

I can only speak from my experience.  Short sales.

Honestly we were first got attracted with the Kara Homes flyer. Once we personally met Michael and did our own research, we were convinced that we made the right choice.

All documents that the office sent us to complete are aasy to understand. we can always call them for clarification and best of all we can just fax the documents back to their office instead of taking it to their office.

Kara Home has excelent level of communication. Special thanks to Jaccklyn and Brittany for keeping us posted at all times regarding the progress of our short sale.

The team has a vast knowledge of short sale/real estate. They really went out of their way to help us go through the process

Everything as handled in a timely manner.

6. Were Michael and his team available when you had questions?  Were they easy to communicate with?  Can you give an example?
The whole team were really efficient in communicating with us. They would give us a call form time to time to keep us posted or they send us emails on a regular basis.

yes we were pleased with the results and we actually gave teh office's phone numbers to our friends and co workers.

.Michael Kara is best at what he does. He cares fpr his cleints and is sincere in helping them. The best part of working with Kara Homes is tha they always update us on the status of our short sale.

Excellent response to initial phone calls and meetings. Michael came to see me at office.

Some documents contain duplicat einformation but generally easy to complete.

Great communication and very quick reponse. Everyone return calls, emails, and answer to my questions.

4. Does it seem that Michael Kara and his team are knowledgeable and experienced with real estate and short sales?  Can you give an example?
Yes in all facets. Especially the documents that are required.

5. Do you believe that your short sale was handled in a diligent and timely manner?  Why or why not?
Yes. The process is long and often I felt I was providing information already give more than once. Overall great coordination.

6. Were Michael and his team available when you had questions?  Were they easy to communicate with?  Can you give an example?
Yes. Available via email, phone, text all the time. I like that I could call office and talk to someone.

7. Were you pleased with the end result of working with Kara Homes?  Why or why not?
Yes good results although the second loan still something I need to deal with. I would have like assistance on this after first loan was closed. It feels like something was skipped. I also would like to know all fees upfront like what buyers paid to you for services.

Clear communication. Excellent response time and understand short sale process in and out.

1. Why did you choose to do business with Kara Homes & Associates?
Received a paper in the mail, called the number, talked to Michael, after I had already talked to a few other realtors, but Michael was a lot more knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and did not ask me for additional money for negotiating with the bank.

2. Did you feel like Michael Kara and his team made it as easy as possible for you to complete and return documents required for your short sale?  Were the documents easy to understand and easy to complete?  Why or why not?
Yes, I was given the option to receive the documents by email, mail or fax, they were easy to understand, and top of that was called to see if I had any questions.

3. How do you feel about the level of communication that you received while working with Kara Homes?
Great.

4. Does it seem that Michael Kara and his team are knowledgeable and experienced with real estate and short sales?  Can you give an example?
Very knowledgeable, and specialy working with an experience attorney to do the negotiations, mede me feel a lot more comfortable.

5. Do you believe that your short sale was handled in a diligent and timely manner?  Why or why not?
We all know that the short sales are not easy, it is a lengthy process, and having two lenders and with two buyers walking away, I thing it was comleted in a very timely manner.

Someone was available to be reached at all times

7. Were you pleased with the end result of working with Kara Homes?  Why or why not?
I am. However i would have been a lot more comfortable to have a seperete document from each bank saying that not the bank nor any collection agency will come after me for the defficency in the future.

8. What do you think Kara Homes is the BEST at, and why?
Knowledgeabele, working with profesional attorney, enables them to have all the client's questions answered, and having all up to date informations available. Great customer service.

9. What do you think Kara Homes NEEDS IMPROVEMENT on, and why?
MLS listing. On the MLS for my house was used a foto property of MLS from 2006, while taking a set of new photos, specialy while I was still in the house, would have made it more attractive to the buyers.

I was told that Kara Homes did a real good job selling the property of a close friend.

All documents were made simple to follow and the process of completeing the documents and returning them were simple also.

Someone made contact with me every 7 to 10 days to let me know the status after the process started moving.

Very experienced with Short sales. Every question I asked was answered directly by Michael and he made me feel comfortable with the process.

Yes, with the exception of an apparent problem that occured with an attorney office that Michael ended up taking the account back from.

Very easy to commincate with when I had questions.

Very pleased

The only experience I had was with the short sale and they were very experienced.

the level of communication form a scale 1 to 10 for me it was a 10

Everything was done on time and work on a very quick pace all the paper work was sent on time and all of the kara team seem to be working on a knowledgeable and very experienced way it seem like they were working on just my short sale from all of the attention i received from all of the team.

yes everything was handle in a diligently way. Like i said i felt like the hole team was working on my short sale.

yes they were always available.If i sent a e mail i would get a response within a couple of minute ,if i gave them a call they would always be someone to answer the phone.

Absolutely!  The email correspondence was helpful and fast.

Wonderful!  It felt like the only case they had was mine.

He was recommended to me by my long-time realtor. It meant a lot that someone I respect thought very highly of him. After speaking with Michael and his team I felt assured that they were extremely knowledgeable and reliable.


2. Did you feel like Michael Kara and his team made it as easy as possible for you to complete and return documents required for your short sale? Were the documents easy to understand and easy to complete? Why or why not?
Completeing the documents was probably the easiest part of the process. Everything that was requested of me was always very straightforward and clear.


3. How do you feel about the level of communication that you received while working with Kara Homes?
Communication was extrodinary. I was always kept abreast of everything that was going on. If I called for an update I would immediately be advised.


4. Does it seem that Michael Kara and his team are knowledgeable and experienced with real estate and short sales? Can you give an example?
I feel like the experience level with Michael and his team is second to none. They always seemed to know ahead of time what would be forthcoming from the bank thus we were always prepared.

The short sale was executed well within the window that was given from the onset.

They were always accesible. I never felt like I was being ignored. In fact, it was quite the opposite as someone was always available.

I was extremely pleased with the results. Even after they had received a deal with the bank that I felt was fair and I was willing to accept, I was advised by the Kara team that they thought they could do better. in the end, they were right and they saved me approximately 30% more. This was awesome!!!!

Because they are always honest and always working in my best interest.

Recommendation.

Michael Kara and his Team made it as easy as possible, however some of the Lenders docs conflict with the Kara Homes docs. It would be a lot easier if all Kara and Lender docs asked the same financial questions.

3. How do you feel about the level of communication that you received while working with Kara Homes?
Excellent.

4. Does it seem that Michael Kara and his team are knowledgeable and experienced with real estate and short sales? Can you give an example?
Very knowledgeable and experienced team, taking the sale from listing through to closing.

Yes - only hold up was the Lenders.

Yes always available responding usually within 24 hours.

I was referred to Kara Homes because of their extensive history of successful short sales

There were alot of documents required but the entire team was more than helpful in completing them.

All my calls and emails were handled in a very timely manner.

It's because of their knowledge and experience that I chose Kara Homes to help me when I needed to do a short sale of my condo.

Diligent? VERY!! When one buyer changed his mind Michael's team was quickly on top of things and found me another buyer.

Michael and all the girls actually answer the telephone....no call center BS....so I was able to get my answers quickly. If they weren't sure of the answer they got the info and got back to me usually the same day.

Well, the desired end result was the sale of my condo....AND WE CLOSED LAST WEEK!!!

Customer Service. They don't treat you like a number. They actually know you when you call. They follw thru and keep their word when they say they will get back to you.

Yes. Both Michael, Brittany and Lisa were great. I liked that everything could be handled via email.

Fantastic. Brittany was so helpful and understanding. Michael was easy to get ahold of as well!

Extremely. When things took time or seemed weird they were one step ahead and completley familiar with everything that went on. It was scary for me, but their knowledge made it easier.

Yes. Everyone was professional and honest.

1. Why did you choose to do business with Kara Homes & Associates?
A friend of mine said that Mike Kara helped him with one of his properties, making it a flawless transition in a short amount of time.

2. Did you feel like Michael Kara and his team made it as easy as possible for you to complete and return documents required for your short sale? Were the documents easy to understand and easy to complete? Why or why not?
The documents were extremely easy to understand and they were very easy to return via PDF emails.

3. How do you feel about the level of communication that you received while working with Kara Homes?
50/50 - they were easy to get a hold of via email - generally within 24 hours. If it was important, they usually got back with me faster. One thing that I hate is when I call someone and get emailed back and that happened more than once.

4. Does it seem that Michael Kara and his team are knowledgeable and experienced with real estate and short sales? Can you give an example?
Very Experienced. Mike was aware of loop holes regarding laws and bank transactions. Brittany was an absolute pleasure to work with. She always had a great attitude and got back with me ASAP; I really do think she is a valuable asset to the company. Without her, Mike would be in alot of trouble.

5. Do you believe that your short sale was handled in a diligent and timely manner? Why or why not?
Unfortunately, No.Whereas, I don't think it was Kara Homes fault - but we went through multiple negotiators and vacations, making my file extremely stressful and expensive. Thankfully Mike was able to negotiate a better rate for me... but since it took so long, the association kept adding onto my total amount owed.

6. Were Michael and his team available when you had questions? Were they easy to communicate with? Can you give an example?
When they weren't on vacation and/or mad at me - yes. Mike has a short fuse - very easy to fly off the handle and I'm not the only one that thinks that... thats why I would contact Brittany most of the time if I had any nagging questions.

7. Were you pleased with the end result of working with Kara Homes? Why or why not?
Overall, Yes. We had a falling out, b/c we both had different idea's about communication, but once we got through a screaming match - we made ends meet. And obviously I'm happy that this is over, b/c my property sold (after 8+ months of negotiations and never ending paper work)... now I can move forward with my life and try to rebuild my credit.

8. What do you think Kara Homes is the BEST at, and why?
Selling themselves. Mike is very good at being a faceman for the company. He knows the business very well and he can definetely make things happen when they need to.

9. What do you think Kara Homes NEEDS IMPROVEMENT on, and why?
Mike needed to realize that our livelyhoods are at stake and we can be VERY stressed at times, so he took a step back and looked at the big picture, making it easier for us to work well together. Basically, we are putting our future in his hands; where trust plays a huge role in his business and there were times where I did not feel comfortable doing business with him. In addition, I know more than one person that did business with Kara homes and they both weren't too happy. In addition, I sold my property a couple months ago and I still have not recieved any final paperwork. I'm not even sure what I will or should get, but a summary statement and/or some monetary spreadsheet would be nice to send to my accountant.
